Do you know an older adult who would benefit from a free home cooked meal and the chance to get

to know a friendly neighbour?

Casserole Club can help! We connect those who love cooking and want to meet more people in their area (Cooks), to older adults (Diners) who would appreciate having a home cooked meal delivered to them by a friendly neighbour.

Our volunteer Cooks sign up online via our website,, where they go through our safeguarding process which includes a criminal record check and food safety test. They are then invited to get in

touch with a local Diner who likes eating similar food. Phone numbers are exchanged and a meal share is

organised between the Cook and Diner. A Cook usually always delivers the meal to the Diner’s home, and the

Casserole Club team is available as a point of contact throughout.

Diners are signed up through a referrer or are also able to get in touch with us directly via or by calling us on 0300 111 8006. During their sign up process we take down

the food they like as well as dietary requirement. This along with a few facts about the Diner helps us to match

them with a Cook whose food they will like and will also get along with.

Initially we only ask our Cooks to share one meal with a local Diner. After the first meal share we then speak to

both Diner and Cook to see if they would like to take part in another meal share, if they would like to meet

someone else or if Casserole Club isn’t for them.

Although we are new to Staffordshire, we’ve already gathered considerable support across the borough and are

looking to make some strong links with community services and people - like you! If you have any questions,

please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us on 0300 111 8006.
