Featherstone Pride

Featherstone Pride is all about different agencies and organisations working together with the community in Featherstone to improve the way services are delivered for residents.

Featherstone Pride was started in 2007 as a pilot project to explore how ‘locality working’ could be implemented across the district. The project aimed to focus on the following high-level outcomes:

  • Improving quality of life and wellbeing
  • Cleaner, greener and safer environment
  • Helping to raise aspirations and skills within the community

While this project was seen as a pilot, with clear outcomes and a need to make an impact within a set time period, it was acknowledged that the issues were very complex and to make a lasting impact would take much longer. Therefore there was always a desire that the pilot was seen as a way to embed new ways of working which are sustainable.

The Featherstone Pride project has now been running for several years and has seen due to this great partnership approach to working has seen many achievements including:-

  • Development of a Community Newsletter and a  Community Friends group
